The Oak Grove Endowment
Work continues in establishing the Oak Grove Endowment. Specific details of the purposes and bylaws of the endowment program have yet to be finalized, but many have already contributed financial gifts, in good faith that the established Endowment will be a worthy, faithful Christian enterprise.
Early indications are that Endowment proceeds will fund different ministry areas, such as the following:
- Missions
- United Methodist camp scholarships
- Building maintenance and improvements
- Emerging needs
Whatever the final program becomes, the Endowment Committee is working to ensure that current and future contributors will be proud of the ministry their gifts will make possible.
You may still make good-faith contributions to our Endowment Fund, and those gifts will be set aside and deposited in the Oak Grove Endowment when it is officially adopted by the congregation. In the unlikely event that the endowment program is not what you expected, we will be happy to reallocate these early gifts to another purpose.
Remember, an "Endowment" is different from a conventional, designated “Fund.” a Fund sets aside money that is readily and immediately available to be disbursed for a designated purpose. Gifts to an Endowment are not immediately spent, but are instead preserved for long-term benefit, to generate a lasting source of interest income to fund ministries far into the future, theoretically forever.
Your gifts to the Oak Grove Endowment will support meaningful ministries for years to come.
